En el suroccidente colombiano, en el corazón del nudo de los Pastos, donde la cordillera de los Andes se disemina en tres cadenas montañosas que se sumergen en el océano Atlántico, en esos territorios que hoy denominamos: Nariño, Cauca y Putumayo, tierras antiguas que fueron habitadas por pueblos indígenas como los Quillacingas e influenciados culturalmente por pueblos andinos como los Incas, donde quedó sembrada la herencia ancestral de cuidar nuestra “Pacha mama”, esa madre tierra que nos provee con sus recursos para nuestra supervivencia, que hoy llora al ver cómo sus hijos la despojan de sus riquezas naturales, viviendo sin empatía, consciencia y control, segados por anhelos de riquezas materiales, ajenos y desentendidos de su degradación. En medio de estos dolores, también nacen luces de esperanza y, desde hace cinco años, emergen dos voces jóvenes que están redefiniendo la forma en que hablamos de esa relación ética entre la humanidad, la naturaleza y un actor relativamente nuevo y relevante para el futuro, la tecnología; que, por una inmersión sin consciencia, se están moldeando un conflicto de proporciones sociales y ambientales que aún no vislumbramos en su real dimensión.
Estas dos voces propositivas son las de dos jóvenes hermanos: Dylan y Neithan Fernando Merchancano Cristancho, quienes no solo representan a una nueva generación inspirada por el espíritu de esos legados ancestrales, cuyos ojos pueden ver más allá del simple acto de vivir por vivir, sino del sentir de un corazón noble por el “buen vivir”, son niños que se convirtieron en jóvenes luchando por que la humanidad se sensibilice y aprenda a ser consciente del impacto que produce la huella ambiental, especialmente por el uso irracional que tenemos de la tecnología. Su magnánima, pero silenciosa labor les permitió posicionarse como líderes en acción climática juvenil en América Latina, nombrados por la organización Premios Verdes en 2022. Son cofundadores junto con sus padres Diego y Angela de la Fundación Educativa de Prosperidad y la Paz (Fepropaz, 2019), quienes los guían, cuidan y protegen, dedicándose en esta cruzada de familia a la construcción de proyectos de diversa índole, con una línea transversal educativa. Este equipo lideró un arduo trabajo con sus propios recursos, investigó y, con una gran dosis de determinación e imaginación, construyó el modelo de sostenibilidad ecotecnológica denominado: “CULTURA ECODIGITAL” es un proyecto que llevó a estos hermanos emprendedores a encontrar su misión de vida, inspirando la creación y promoción de la Escuela de Cultura Ecodigital Kids – CedKids – para transformar la conciencia digital desde edades tempranas, construyendo una propuesta educativa innovadora que vincula la tecnología, la protección del planeta y la concienciación ambiental desde la infancia.
La cultura Ecodigital se convirtió en una forma de asumir su propia vida, al punto de pasar de ser un proyecto de FEPROPAZ para convertirse en una empresa de la cual se convirtieron en socios accionistas, que a través de la ruta de emprendimiento de la Cámara de Comercio de Pasto en 2023 formalizaron la spin-off CULTURA ECODIGITAL, CED SAS BIC, que promueve la transformación empresarial ecodigital, convirtiéndose en una empresa aliada estratégica del Cluster TIC de Pasto y líder en consciencia del desarrollo tecnológico sostenible, con el sueño de convertirse en la start-up líder de Latinoamérica en este propósito.
Su historia demuestra que el protagonismo juvenil no es una promesa futura, sino una realidad transformadora. En un contexto donde la urgencia de atender los efectos climáticos exige acciones concretas, por eso Dylan y Neithan apuestan por la educación digital para la paz, la sensibilización comunitaria y el liderazgo infantil y juvenil como herramientas esenciales para construir territorios resilientes y sostenibles. EL ORIGEN DE UN COMPROMISO: UNA FUNDACIÓN FAMILIAR CON IMPACTO GLOBAL.
Dylan y Neithan no llegaron solos a este camino. Su historia está profundamente entrelazada con el nacimiento de la Fundación Educativa de Prosperidad y Paz (FEPROPAZ), una organización familiar que surgió en 2019 con el propósito de promover la paz, la sostenibilidad y la educación como herramientas de transformación social para alcanzar la prosperidad integral, como lo dice su nombre. Este paraje de ensueño digital cuenta con CEDLAB, el Centro de Innovación e Investigación Ecotecnológica, como un faro de agroecología y base de la apropiación ecodigital, para inspirar el desarrollo tecnológico sostenible.
Esta semilla de emprendimiento ECOTECH ha sido impulsada por sus padres, Ángela Cristancho y Diego Merchancano, quienes los han guiado por caminos estratégicos donde sus ideas han sido valoradas y su voz está encontrando una ventana para transformar el mundo. En ese entorno de confianza, compromiso y corresponsabilidad, nació su determinación y convicción para inspirar la infancia y la juventud en la generación de impactos positivos que contribuyan en la mitigación de las problemáticas socioambientales; seguramente esto traerá un gran cambio generacional para un mejor futuro. CEDKIDS: Una escuela de cultura ecodigital para salvar el planeta.
En un mundo cada vez más conectado digitalmente, la educación tecnológica y ambiental necesita hablar el lenguaje de las nuevas generaciones y sembrar consciencia.
